Wedding Weekend in New York with Mom Monday, May 25 2009

So I took advantage of the long weekend to take care of some wedding stuff with mom.  Overall the weekend was very productive.  The invites are addressed and will be mailed out tomorrow, I picked out the cutest 60′s style dress for the bridal shower and the cutest shoes to go with it.  The biggest thing I accomplished though was finding a new wedding dress.  As most of my friends know I previously had a wedding dress, but it seems as though it was not meant for this wedding.  I gained weight and it just did not fit anymore.  So my mom and I went dress shopping on Saturday , and by a stroke of luck found me the perfect wedding dress at Goodwill of all places.  We were actually on our way to an appointment at David’s Bridal ironically enough.  So we kept the appointment and got all of the accessories for the dress.  I am so glad that I got a new dress.  I love it more then my old one, and I was able to actually shop with my mom this time.  That makes everything so much more special!

Everything is finally coming together and it is so nice.  The big day is getting closer, and Sheril will be up for my bridal shower so I am really looking forward to that.  It is almost time to go and get our marriage license, and I am really excited !!  I can’t wait for the day to get here but it still seems like there is so much to do.  Back to the real world and work tomorrow, blah.

Bridesmaids dresses and independent minded flowergirls Sunday, Feb 1 2009

Hello,

Sorry it has been a while since our last post, but things have been a little hectic in our household.  Somewhere along the way I managed to pick out the bridesmaids dresses with the help of my wonderful friend and bridesmaid Erin.  My stepmother was actually the one who pointed it out to me when we brought my sister in to try on dresses and I loved it.  Here is the winner:

I love it because they can actually wear it again, and it does not look to bridesmaidy (it is actually listed as a special occasion dress).

I also found the dress for the flower girls.  I was super excited about it and couldn’t wait to show it to Josh’s niece and for Sheril (my matron of honor) to show it to Rylee my other flower girl.  So I showed Katlyn the dress she was going to be wearing and was promptly told that she didn’t really like that dress and she would look through the other ones to see if she liked any of those better.  After about an hour I was able to convince her that the dress was wearable and would look very pretty in it.  She is the cutest little girl, and already knows how to speak her mind, I love it.  I would include a picture, but i can’t seem to get it to work, so I guess you will have to wait until the wedding to see.

I can’t believe it is almost February!  The time is going by so much faster then we thought it would.  Can’t wait to see you all and  we will try to post more often now that the wedding is getting closer.

As we make our way towards the aisle…. Monday, Aug 25 2008

Hello, this is our first post on the wedding blog.  We hope that you will stop by frequently in the days leading up to our wedding.  For those of you who don’t know the story of Josh and I, we met while volunteering at the Boston Run to Remember, had our first date on St. Patrick’s day 2006 and have been together since then.  Josh asked me to marry him January 21st (I think that was his convenient way to remember the date since it is his birthday) after we came back from playing trivia.  I don’t know who was surprised more, me or him.  We have decided to get married August 8, 2009 at the Publick House Inn in Sturbridge, MA.  I expect the road leading up to the wedding will have many twists and turns.  We hope to document them all here for your reading pleasure, we hope you enjoy our blog and share in our happiness.
